The three dimensions of a good life

Think your way in, feel your way in. You write the rules.

Four years on, I still think about the 'Three Dimensions of the Good Life'.

As everything accelerates, the question I always return to is:

How do I actually want to spend my time?

Research from Erin Westgate and her team.

Four years ago, I would naturally trade happiness for meaning and psychological richness. These days, I prioritise everyday joy (a facilitator of happiness) and it's had a wild impact on my energy. I feel way more alive across each dimension.

Two questions I often revisit here:

1) Which dimension am I overfeeding vs. underfeeding?
2) What would a small rebalancing be in this quarter?

It's easy to get swept into the desires around you.

It's hard to separate what's truly authentic and deeply resonant.
